On Twitter, Friday night, March 2, 2012:
@JohnBGilman "Tasted the new Holy Grail of Ribeira Sacra producers yesterday - Don Bernardino, Decima, Sabatelius, Toalde, Cazoga - just insanely good, low octane fireworks."
John Gilman, the great wine palate who publishes the best wine newsletter in the United States, View From the Cellar, loved the wines of The Spanish Artisan Wine Group - Gerry Dawes Selections at a tasting-tapas luncheon on Friday, March 2
at Barcelona Restaurant, Greenwich, CT.

The Spanish Artisan Wine Group - Gerry Dawes Selections wines got great reactions from the tasters: John Gilman; the great Gretchen Thomas, Wine & Spirits Director of the Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant Group; Andy Pforzheimer, one of the partners in the Barcelona Restaurant Group; John Sconzo (Docsconz: Musings on Food and Life), traveling gourmet and blogger par excellence; wine educator Candela M. Prol; and Dana Staley, these last two essential members of my team.

Andy Pforzheimer, one of the partners in Barcelona, stopped by as a courtesy to taste our wines. Here is what he put on my Facebook after the tasting:
"Great wines, Gerry. You really came through. I came down just to see you, but I stayed for what was in the glass. Can't wait to pour some."

John Sconzo, who writes the DocSconz Musings on Food and Life blog and is super connected with many of the top restaurants in the country, put this on Facebook last evening. He drove all the way down from Saratoga and back just for the tasting. (By the way, the alcohol in our lower alcohol wines wears off far quicker that does the hootch in those 15% Darth Vadar monsters. No one had any problem navigating back to their abodes after the event [I checked].)
Thanks for a great afternoon! Some tastes from today - courtesy of Gerry Dawes. Much more to come on this Spanish wine tasting cornucopia!
